Democracy: it rather requires the patience to find common ground

This part of the blog will probably piss you off. I agree with certain policies and principles of all parties in the United States. However, I also find certain policies and principles to e abhorrent and will say as much. 

silence about ones beliefs is just as poisonous on a national level as it is on a personal level.

I believe wholeheartedly that no opinion, political or otherwise, is formed of true malice, except by the truly insane. On some level, in some way, each person whose opinion must appear, at least on its surface, to be utterly and completely wrong, almost certainly has true and justifiable reasons for holding that opinion.

 

Finding the common ground, the core motivations that we as a people share, is the highest goal of any democracy as it satisfies the wants of the greatest possible percentage of the population.
